Del Campo swim team finishes strong!

After a long season’s worth of practice under Coaches Pierce and Timmons, DC swimmers performed very well. On April 20-21 the DC swim team went to championships against Vista Del Lago, Rio Americano, Christian Brothers, and El Camino. Rio Americano High School had to host this event at Vista Del Lago’s pool because Rio’s pool had technical difficulties.
Because of strong performances from some Cougar swimmers, they advanced to sections. Swimmers at sectionals include:

Swimmers that made finals:
Tatum Auble: Swam the 50 free (2 laps freestyle) and ended up getting 15th in the entire section with a time of 25.45
Bryson Schmid: Swam the 50 free and got 11th in the entire section with a time of 22.00. He also swam 100 fly (4 laps butterfly) and got 7th overall with a time of 52.24
Varsity Boys relay (Zacc Espinoza, Jake Espinoza, Bryson Schmid, William Seubert) got 10th in the 200 free relay where they each swam two laps of freestyle. They got a time of 1.32.30 which was just shy of the school record.
