Powderpuff returns!

Noel Hannan, Editor

Powderpuff officially returned to Del Campo on May 17th! Because of a two-year absence due to COVID-19, students highly anticipated this event. Junior and senior girls went head-to-head in flag football.

The teams practiced their football skills before game day while the male juniors and seniors brushed up on their cheer routines so they could support the players. The cheerleaders for each class did their own unique routine for halftime. The final score was juniors (0), and seniors (35).

The Powderpuff tradition began in 1972 when a PE teacher and a coach at a high school in Connecticut came up with the game to get more girls involved in athletic events. Del Campo is happy to keep the tradition going and everyone involved is looking forward to next year’s game!
