Air fried chimichanga recipe

 

My name is Liam Rogers. I am a freshman and new to the DC Roar staff.  I want to share my dad’s Chimichanga recipe. One day he made this based on the ingredients we had in our house. It is a fairly new recipe for our family and I think the end results are very delicious.

General Information:

Serves 2 people

5 minutes prep time

5 minutes cook time

Contains beef

Serving size: 1 chimichanga per person

Ingredients:

  • 2 8-inch tortillas
  • 4 tbsp refried beans
  • 4 tbsp canned chili with beef
  • Cooking spray

Instructions:

Take 2 tbsps of refried beans and 2 tbsps of chili and EVENLY spread them out on one of your tortillas. Do this for both tortillas. If you want, you could also add some other ingredients. I like to add cilantro, lime juice, and Tapatio hot sauce.

  1. Fold both ends of the tortillas in the direction of the contents. Next, roll the tortilla from one side to the other.
  2. Spray them with the cooking spray, then place them in an air-fryer for 5 minutes at 425°.
  3.  After taking them out of the air-fryer, let them sit for about 2 minutes.

These chimichangas may appear a little burnt, but they taste amazing, and the process is pretty straightforward. I hope you give them a try and have a wonderful meal!
