Best buddies friendship walk

From 8:30 to 12:00 on April 27th, the Best Buddies Organization is having a half mile Friendship Walk in North Natomas Regional Park. It’s a walk of inclusion to connect with people who have intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). The walk is a half mile.

The walk is to help Best Buddies break down barriers, and open up more opportunities for students, and adults with intellectual disabilities. There are over 70 walks for Best Buddies across the globe each year. According to the Best Buddies Foundation, since 2009, more than 150,000 participants in 60 cities have walked to raise awareness for one-to-one friendships. This event can change lives. It brings people together, and forms connections that will last them a lifetime. Use this link to register for the Sacramento walk. At the end of the walk, there will be food and drinks.

If students are interested in being a part of Best Buddies on campus, they can join the club which meets on Thursdays at lunch in room 11. This is Del Campo’s first year having this club, and they could use more members to help grow the club.  To learn more about Best buddies and what they do click on this Link.

Remember, one person’s help can change the future of many others.
